Troubleshooting

I cannot sign in

  • Check that you are using the same email address you registered with at app.murphys-law.ai. If you have not registered yet, create an account there first.
  • If you have forgotten your password, reset it on the web app, then sign in again in the task pane.
  • Sign-in needs an internet connection. On a corporate network, a firewall or proxy may be blocking murphys-law.ai — ask your IT team to allow it.
  • Close the task pane and reopen it, then try once more. This clears a session that has expired.

The add-in does not appear in Word

  • Look on the Home tab, under Add-ins. Murphy appears as the Murphy button in the Legal AI group.
  • If it is not there, open Home → Add-ins → More Add-ins → My Add-ins and check that Murphy is listed. If it is, select it to load it.
  • Restart Word completely. Newly installed add-ins often only appear after a restart.
  • Confirm your Office version meets the system requirements below. Office 2019 and earlier cannot load the add-in at all.
  • If your organisation deploys add-ins centrally, your administrator may still need to approve Murphy for your account.

I have reached my daily usage limit

  • Free accounts include a set number of AI requests per day. The limit resets automatically every 24 hours, so you can continue the next day at no cost.
  • To keep working straight away, upgrade your plan at app.murphys-law.ai.
  • If you believe the limit is being applied incorrectly, email us with your account email address and roughly when it happened, and we will check it.

System Requirements

Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 or later. Office 2019 and earlier are not supported.
